Linton H. Smith - Town Administrator/Finance Manager
Linton Smith currently lives in Thunderbolt with his 2 children. He brings to the Town
of Thunderbolt experience in operations, financial control, customer service and technology
management. He possesses shirtsleeves experience in diverse areas including strategic planning,
sophisticated analysis, financial forecasting, budget design and processing, customer service
and technology training and possesses motivational skills in all areas of his work. His intuitive
negotiating, investigative, and research skills bring many opportunities to our Community.

Linton is a native of Savannah and has worked for over 26 years with local municipalities in
three states, and specifically in the State of Georgia, with the DOT and the Office of Secretary
of State. He also has worked as a consultant for the federal government as a logistics specialist
for the roll out of the TSA. Linton also has a long history of work in Medical Equipment
Manufacturing, Hospital Management and Church Administration. His work with the Savannah
Chamber of Commerce for over six years allowed him to meet and develop many relationships,
both personal and business. He has served on many local boards such as the Bull Street
Renovation Committee, Downtown Ward Captain, and has a strong commitment to volunteerism
not only locally but nationally and internationally.

Linton’s educational background includes a BA from Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia. He
has many certifications in business, technology and customer service. He is also a graduate of
Frontline Leadership. Linton is an avid fisherman when time allows along with any other salt
water based activities. His passions are history, reading, adult education, foreign languages, and
cooking.
